Love 2 Link Design Seminar

On January 18th, 2016, Affairs Afloat (in conjunction with All American Balloons) is inviting balloon artists from all around the Southwest region to join us for a seminar on advanced balloon design techniques called “Love to Link”. Linking balloons has been around for years, but very few balloon artists have learned to tap into the true potential of these “latex building blocks” for our industry. Master Balloon Artist Steven Jones from Balloon Designers in Seattle will be leading the hands-on seminar. In addition to giving an advanced course...

Starting Out With a Bang

Sometimes the creativity and “wow” doesn’t just come from us, but from our clients. Take the balloons shown below as an example. Affairs Afloat used these to decorate for a wedding at the Fort Worth Club. The arrangements are pretty enough on their own, but what really added the “wow” was what the bride and groom did with them. As they walked together through the hallway, they popped each balloon as they passed under it – telling everyone that they were about to start their lives together with a bang (or,...

We’ve been blowing up a lot of red, white, and blue balloons the last couple of weeks to mark some of our favorite events that took place around the 4th of July. Here’s how we added “wow” to a couple of them: We added our touch of “wow” to the 2015 Southwest Believers’ Convention hosted by Kenneth Copeland Ministries at the end of June. This week long event at the Fort Worth Convention Center featured a variety of special speakers, prayer services, and more. All of it culminated on the 4th of July so...

The flood waters have passed and the spring storms (hopefully) are done for the year. That means it’s time for company picnics and celebrations in the parks. How can you make sure your group finds you among the masses for your day of fun in the sun? With balloons from Affairs Afloat, of course. It will be easy for the people attending your gathering to know where to park and where to find you when you tell them, “Just look for the balloons.” Your arrangement will guide them to the event and set the tone for a good time to be...

Celebrations for Little Learners

We’ve been focusing a lot of attention on the balloons we do for celebrations being held by high school students, but the little guys like a little “Wow” at their events too. Every year we get to add some color and excitement to the End of School Celebration at Lighthouse Christian Academy, a school dedicated to starting kids on the right path with programs for preschool and kindergarten age children. This year we provided them with festive columns swirled with color to celebrate the end of their school year and the...

How do you transform a traditional corporate office space into a venue to showcase the performing skills of your staff? With balloons of course! When the folks at Epsilon told us they were staging “Epsilon’s Got Talent” so their employees could show off their skills at singing, dancing, and all things entertaining; we knew just what to do. By creating a wall of balloons, Affairs Afloat was able to turn a space normally filled with cubicles and office furniture into a stage backdrop suitable for video and pictures of the...

Local florist Jim Irwin gave his friend a 70th birthday she’ll never forget a Kent & Co. Wines in Fort Worth. Affairs afloat decked out the wine bar in neon pink and green. Balloon arrangements in the flower boxes and whimsical columns at the entrance set the tone for this joyous celebration. Once inside guests were surrounded by clusters of neon balloons placed around the room and hanging from the ceiling to enhance the mood of the festivities. Whatever the special occasion, Affairs Afloat Balloons will set the perfect tone to make...

Like we mentioned in our last post – it’s proms, proms, and more proms at Affairs Afloat. This past weekend we got to create to two celebrations in one. For the Brewer High School prom we took the students to Hollywood for their Red Carpet themed prom at the Fort Worth Convention Center. When they saw that Hollywood arch they knew they were in the right place. After the prom the students attended their senior celebration at the high school. For this circus themed event the students are locked in the school where they play games...
